A throwback to Christmas Day!
When others are winding down to enjoy their Christmas break we’re winding up to produce the centre piece for everyone’s Christmas table.
By the time we get to Christmas Day we are absolute baggage and it results in generally passing out on the sofa at 4pm.
However busy we have been in previous years I don’t think it’s going to be a patch on what this year is going to bring!
This will be the same story on farms up and down the UK, farming is exhausting, it’s not a job, it’s a vocation, it’s a lifestyle, it’s a passion.
Farmers farm because of their love for the land, their livestock and the space we call the great British Countryside.
Putting food on tables takes blood sweat and in my case tears when I can’t move my hands on Christmas Eve!
So when you’re tucking in to your sprouts on Christmas Day or indeed carving your delicious free range turkey please spare a thought for the farmer that grew and reared them… as they to will likely be crashed out on a sofa at 4pm!
Above all else this Christmas, please support British farmers, please ensure that the meat (whatever meat that may be) and the veg are British.
Use your choice to show our government we don’t want cheap meat imported from overseas, that we want to eat the meat and produce from right here in the UK. It’s reared and produced to some of the highest welfare standards in the world and that’s something to be proud of!
